Driving Directions
Please have these directions available; GPS and other online map systems have led many people far astray!
From Albuquerque (drive time about 1 hour): From the Big-I interchange, take I-40 East. Go about 15 miles to Exit #175. Take this exit onto Highway 14 North (towards Cedar Crest), the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway. Travel north on Highway 14 approximately 30 miles, passing through Golden and Madrid. Two miles after passing the town of Madrid, look for Mile Marker 31. Just past this marker, turn right on County Road 55: Gold Mine Road.
After turning onto Gold Mine Road, go 2 1/3 miles to where the road forks to the right. Turn right onto High Feather Ranch road (unpaved), and drive 2/10 mile to 29 High Feather Ranch. The ranch entrance is on the righthand side and has a large metal gate with trees on top and the number 29 on it. Follow the driveway around and take the first right hand fork with the arrow to the ranch house.
From Santa Fe (drive time about 45 minutes): From the I-25 and Cerrillos Road Interchange (Exit 278A), go south on Highway 14, the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway, towards Cerrillos and Madrid. Go approximately 15 miles south. Just after passing the turn-off for the Village of Cerrillos and just before Mile Marker 31, turn left on County Road 55: Gold Mine Road. Note that the turn-off to Gold Mine Road is also marked by a big brown sign for the Santa Fe Botanical Garden's Ortiz Mountain Preserve.
Parking
There is plenty of parking available at High Feather Ranch. Please park only along the gravel drive and not on the wild grasses. The drive to the house is a circle, and it must be kept open to arriving traffic for guest drop off or pickup or emergency vehicles. Please do not block the drive.
If everyone follows these instructions, we should end up with no car parked farther than about 50 yards from the front door, arriving and departing guests can be picked up at the front door, and everyone will find their car unblocked and easy to pull out and away when leaving!
